Terms of Service

Welcome to Cliffhangr — the social diary for vertical micro-dramas. These terms are intentionally short and written in plain language, because nobody logs 80 episodes of a revenge arc and then wants to read legalese. By using the Cliffhangr app or website ("the Service"), you agree to them.

1. What Cliffhangr is (and isn't)

Cliffhangr lets you log, rate, review, and organize the vertical-drama series you watch elsewhere. Cliffhangr does not stream, host, or distribute any video content. Show titles and platform names appear solely to identify what you watched and where.

Cliffhangr is not affiliated with ReelShort, DramaBox, ShortMax, GoodShort, FlexTV, or any streaming platform, and is not affiliated with Letterboxd. All platform and show names are the property of their respective owners.

2. Your content

In version 1, everything you create — diary entries, ratings, reviews, lists, profile details — is stored on your own device. You own it. We claim no rights over your reviews, and we couldn't read them if we wanted to, because they never reach us. If you share content out of the app (screenshots, exported lists), you're responsible for where it goes.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to do anything illegal, to harass anyone, or to attempt to break, reverse-engineer, or misrepresent the Service. If a future version adds accounts and shared reviews, community rules will be published before those features ship.

4. Sample content

The app and website ship with a sample catalog, sample reviews, and fictional community members for demonstration. Sample reviews are editorial content, not real user opinions, and show descriptions are our own summaries.

5. The Service is provided "as is"

Cliffhangr is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied — including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. Your diary lives on your device; keep device backups if it matters to you (it does; we've seen your watch counts).

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cliffhangr and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost data. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the past twelve months (in v1: nothing).

7. Changes

We may update these terms as the Service grows (for example, if accounts or paid features launch). Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date, and continued use after that date means you accept them.
